Educational portals of Russia
Educational portals are a necessary element of a unified educational space, the creation of which is widely declared by various federal programs. However, the bulk of the educational portals of the Runet was created as part of government initiatives and targeted programs, private portals are rather rare. The reason is simple lack of either money, or understanding why it is needed, or both at the same time.
Creation of educational portals within the FTP
The main purpose of the FTP " Electronic Russia”and a number of government initiatives is the creation of a single information educational space throughout the Russian Federation. The creation of a unified educational space is a complex multi-stage process, including the consistent implementation of federal and regional level aimed at improving the quality of education, preserving, developing and effective use scientific and pedagogical potential. IT in the new educational environment acquire an institutional character from the means that accompanies educational process, information technologies are becoming the centralizing mechanism of the education system, the accumulator intellectual potential and the main carrier of new techniques.
An important element of the new information environment are educational portals. Integrated into a single educational system, portals create opportunities for additional education, advanced training, obtaining necessary information on questions of interest at any time. The importance of educational portals lies in creating opportunities for the export of Russian intellectual potential, the provision of training services to the Russian-speaking population living abroad.
AT this moment In the Russian-speaking Internet, there are many diverse educational portals. Some of them are initiatives of federal departments, such as the Ministry of Education and social development. Others activities public institutions, and only a small part is private portals. The basis of the telecommunications infrastructure of a unified educational information environment is the RUNNet (Russian University Network), which was created in 1994 as part of the state program"Universities of Russia". Currently, RUNNet is an association of resources of regional networks, as well as large scientific and educational institutions: universities, research centers. RUNNet users include such large scientific and educational networks as RBnet, FREEnet, RUHEP / Radio-MSU, RELARN-IP, networks of the Moscow and St. public universities.
Among the Russian educational networks of a federal scale, the RBnet (Russian Backbone Network) is of interest. Library portals and library networks created on their basis should be singled out as a separate category. Regional library networks, as well as portals of individual libraries, are integrated into the portal systems of the federal scale. As an example of a state library portal, one should cite the unified portal "Libraries of Russia", created with the assistance of the Federal Agency for Culture and Cinematography of the Russian Federation.
